With every WebAdvanced plan, we provide the "Handy Backup for FilesAnywhere" desktop application to automate popular file transfer tasks. Using Handy Backup, you can schedule a backup job to run automatically at predefined times. This will upload selected folders to a FilesAnywhere account and keep the backups up to date incrementally by comparing changes to the source folder.
How to Setup a Scheduled Backup Job
Using Handy Backup for FilesAnywhere, you can schedule a Synchronize job type, to run automatically at predefined times. Use a Synchronize job to automatically keep a local folder in Sync with a folder on FilesAnywhere - in either direction or both directions (Copy from one to the other in one direction only, or keep both locations in Sync with each other). Jobs can be scheduled at 2 different remote locations (or more) to keep the remote locations in Sync, using FilesAnywhere as the intermediary location.

to Setup Scheduled Synchronizations
Use the above Synchronize job to automatically upload files at regular intervals that you drop into local folders. You can also have a Windows batch command file run before or after any scheduled job, so you can have a directory cleared or copy files/folders before or after a scheduled transfer very easily. This makes it possible to move files from place to place in unlimited ways, with no programming.

Using the File Aging feature in FilesAnywhere, you can automatically clear any selected folder on a particular frequency that you set. For example, you can have a shared folder cleared of its contents once per week, every Sunday night.

The API is the preferred method for running any type of remote command on your account. The API offers the greatest performance, security, and flexibility. But not everyone is setup to program using the API. For simple commands, you can connect using FTP or SFTP.
Using an
FTP or Secure Shell SFTP connection, you can run simple commands on your
remote account using standard FTP command line statements. This
may be useful to your application if you are not prepared to write a program
using the FilesAnywhere API to execute SOAP functions remotely.
Please remember that each process connecting to FilesAnywhere - each connection
- requires a separate SubAccount license. It
is possible for a scripted FTP connection to be terminated at our Data
Center if connections or transfer levels exceed the licenses purchased
on the account. Therefore,
for any intensive transfers or for more involved remote commands, we strongly
recommend using the API.
