I cannot Login at www.filesanywhere.com with my new WebAdvanced account

IMPORTANT:
All WebAdvanced accounts need to Login at the following address:  https://backup.filesanywhere.com

WebAdvanced accounts are serviced from a separate group of servers and therefore the Login is different. Please also note that you can only use the GroupShare feature to share folders with other WebAdvanced users (not with users of the www.filesanywhere.com website).

After creating your WebAdvanced account, it takes the server a few minutes to configure your new account, for use with the backup software and SecureFTP.  After the setup step is complete, you will receive an email, indicating the account is ready.  This process usually takes 1-2 minutes, but it could take a little longer.  If you don't receive your Welcome email within 5 minutes, check your Spam folder in email, in case the message was filtered by your email server.  If you still do not have the email, please contact technical support and we can resend the details to you and help you login.

Do I have to pay for Handy Backup separately? It says "Trial Version will expire in 30 days"?

All WebAdvanced accounts come with a free license to use Handy Backup on your desktop for the duration of your subscription.  No additional license needs to be purchased for the handy Backup for FilesAnywhere software.

When you first start your account, you will download the Handy Backup software and this software defaults to a 30-day free trial mode.  This is normal in all cases.

Once your WebAdvanced plan is activated (paid), you will receive a separate email with specific instructions on how to register the Handy Backup software.  This email contains your unique serial number.  You simply start Handy Backup , and enter the serial number provided (when prompted, or under Help/"Enter your Serial Number").

You may immediately become a Subscribed User by selecting the box that states " Skip the Free Account".

You may also Upgrade the first time you Login to the free trial account, or at any point during the trial.

             1. Click on the Account button on the toolbar.

             2.  Click the Update Your Plan button and submit your credit card details, then submit the form.

How do I cancel my trial account?

If you have a 1GB Free Account (www.FilesAnywhere.com)
If you wish to close your account and you have not subscribed, no action is necessary.  Your account will automatically expire after 60 days of no activity.

If you have a 10-Day WebAdvanced Free Trial (backup .FilesAnywhere.com)
If you wish to close your WebAdvanced account during the trial and prevent charges to your registered credit card, you must Login to your account at "https://backup .FilesAnywhere.com" and click one of the "Cancel" options in the Account page (see the steps below).  You do need to also uninstall the Handy Backup software.

If you are a Paid Subscriber:
To close the account, first open the Account Information page, by clicking on the Account toolbar button:

  1. You may discontinue your account at the end of the current period by selecting the "Close Account At End of Period" button on the Account Information page.  This option allows you the remainder of your subscription period to download any remaining files from your account before it is closed.

  2. You may discontinue your account immediately by selecting the "Close Account Immediately" button on the Account Information page.  Refunds are not offered for the unused portion of your plan period, so you would be better off choosing the option above.  Make sure you have all remaining files you need, since the account will be unavailable the next day.

Why is there a limit on downloads while using the Free Account?

There is a download limit on individual file downloads for the 1GB Free Account. We describe this limit during the registration process and on the uploading page, and in the Terms of Use. This limit helps us keep the account free to use as long as you want. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent uploading files that are greater than the limit, because the server does not know how large the upload will be until it is finished.  If you need to download files that are more than the free account limit, please upgrade the account to any regular subscription.  These plans start at just $3.95 and you can activate the upgrade online immediately.  Also, our WebAdvanced plan does have a trial mode for 10-days which does not impose these limits, so you can try out the features without limitations.

What features are limited during the free trial?

As mentioned above, downloads are limited on individual files.  There are also daily limits on the total number of files that can be downloaded and shared through guest FileShare and Dropbox links.  Please refer to the Terms of Use for specific limits of the 1GB Free Account.  The free account allows for continuous free use, without advertising, and hopefully you can get some value out of that.  This policy helps us keep the costs of providing the service from escalating, so we can prevent our regular plan prices from increasing.  If you are interested in evaluating FilesAnywhere for your organization, and a limitation of the free account is preventing you from performing a thorough evaluation, please refer to our WebAdvanced 10-day free trial.  You can also call our support line and an engineer will be happy to assist you further: 1 (866) 805 1991.
