What are FileViews?

This feature is hidden by default. To enable this feature, open your Profile and uncheck the box to Disable File Views.

FileViews give you the flexibility to organize and share documents in a whole new way!  FileViews can be used like "virtual file cabinets" to create unlimited categories for your documents. You start by defining a new FileView with its own subfolders. The subfolders you create are like categories, and they can be any type of categorization you need; i.e.: clients, cities, file types, persons, projects, years, etc. Then you drag-and-drop Login and click the "Multi-Upload" tab in to reveal the "Upload Drop Pad". Simply drag and drop anything you want onto this box, and it will start uploading immediately to your account. This tool is fast, reliable, "firewall-friendly", and works in all web browsers, using Windows, Mac or Linux. Another method available for drag-and-drop Uploads and Downloads is the WebFolder feature. Refer to the WebFolder User Guide in Help Contents. existing files and folders from anywhere within your FilesAnywhere remote directory into any of the FileView subfolders you have added, creating links to the actual files.

The FileViews you create become "virtual directories", alternate views of the files that are already on your FilesAnywhere drive. FileViews can be used just like real folders, so you can download, upload, move, copy, and do everything that you can do with normal folders. You can even share your FileView structures with other users! This means you can design multiple views of the same files, depending on how you want to share your files.
