Anyone sharing files using FilesAnywhere can use the new tracking feature to record the name, location, time of day and method of access, whenever a shared file is accessed or modified. FilesAnywhere displays the File History log online, which users analyze in real-time, export as a Microsoft Excel file, or receive via email. Optionally, each file change can trigger a notification email to a designated recipient list.
File History Tracking provides an audit trail for file usage, tracking statistics for shared users or individual use. This has specific benefits to business users or health professionals concerned with shared access to confidential documents. HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act Of 1996) includes provisions for journaling electronic document access.
