The File History report is an HTML-formatted report sent through email. This report displays a list of major file actions within a selected folder and its subfolders, the username who performed the action, and the exact date and time of the action (all date/times displayed in Central Standard Time, GMT -0600).
File actions logged in the Email Export include:
Upload: Each file uploaded. For Multi-Uploads, each file is shown separately for detailed tracking.
Download: Each file downloaded. For Multi-Downloads, each file is shown separately for detailed tracking.
File Share Access: Each file accessed from a File Share. The logging occurs the moment the share recipient clicks the "Download" button on the File Share page.
Delete: Each time a file is deleted. When an entire folder is deleted, each file that is deleted in the folder and subfolders is logged separately for detailed tracking.
Checkin: If Version Control "Checkin/Checkout The method of Checking files In and Checking them Out, for editing. This is the main feature activated when you turn on Version Control for a folder. Version Contro Version Control provides a structure for working on files in a team, along with detailed tracking, alerts, and the ability to open any prior version of a file.l for a folder." is enabled, each file Checkin is logged (whenever a file is uploaded). Checkin/Checkout records appear in a separate section of the File History report.
Checkout: If Version Control "Checkin/Checkout " is enabled, each file checkout is logged (whenever a file is downloaded with the Checkout option). Checkin/Checkout records appear in a separate section of the File History report.

"Checkin/Checkout " is enabled, when a file is downloaded read-only (not checked out) this download option is recorded separately in the Checkin/Checkout section of the File History report.
Include Subfolders: Activity for all files contained within all subfolders of the selected folder will also be included in the report. If you uncheck this option, only files within the immediate selected folder will be reported on.
From Date: The beginning date from which all file activity will be reported (from 12:00 AM Central Time of the selected date).
To Date: The ending date through which all file activity will be reported. Activity is reported through the end of the selected day (up to 11:59:59 PM Central Time of the selected date).
Email To: Recipient email address where the email is sent. You may specify multiple addresses separated by semicolons (;). This email address defaults to the registered email address in your user profile.
A variation of this report is available for export (download). Clicking "Export to Excel" will create and download a file displaying the full set of results from your Version History query (the same as the results displayed when paging through all Version History records online). The Export file is actually a tab-delimited text file, and if you have Microsoft Excel on your computer it will automatically open in Excel. Tip: save this file as an Excel document if you make any changes, to preserve formatting.
