FilesAnywhere was designed from the ground up to be the most secure and reliable file storage platform ever.  File security is implemented on our server on multiple levels, combining the following security measures:

Access to personal remote file drives is password-protected, so nobody can access your files unless they have your username and your password. Your personal password can be changed at anytime, and we recommend changing it at least quarterly in case someone sees you type it. The password field is hidden to prevent passers-by from seeing you enter it.

Using the High-Security SSL Login, all information transmitted between our data center and your computer is encrypted, making it impossible for any hacker to intercept the data. This is the same cipher strength being embraced by the international banking community and the US military as the next-generation in data encryption security. The public key used for our High-Security SSL Login is 128 bits in length, which means there are 2128 (two, to the 128th power) possible code keys to search Search File/Folder Names, Text in Files, Metatag Keywords or Comments.  Instantly search files in folders or account-wide. An available Index feature (included with all multi-user accounts) rapidly indexes all readable file content in the account, making word searches lightning-fast, even over thousands of files! Create your own keywords, then "tag" files to search by keyword. through if trying to crack the code.

Current estimates for the time needed to break the 128-bit key encryption technology, with all available computing resources in the world pooled together, approaches the approximate age of the universe!

Internet firewalls prevent intruders from having direct access to the file area of our servers. Files are stored separately in private data drives in a proprietary way that only internal server processes have direct access to.  FTP and WebDAV No software to install, since WebDAV is built into most operating systems. Using this feature, you can Open, Edit and Save remote files directly from your applications. Also Copy/Paste or Drag-n-Drop between your local computer and the mapped FilesAnywhere folder. users have their data always protected by username and password, with the same security that the web site employs.
